The problems surrounding climate change and its impact on our world are complex and it is easy to believe there is little the individual can do. But this is not true. Energy-saving steps can be as simple as unplugging appliances and equipment when not in use. We can choose energy efficient appliances and change air filters on a monthly basis. Individuals can also recycle as much plastic, paper, cardboard, and aluminum as possible. Items can be repurposed for reuse or donated to those who can use them. Offering shopper loyalty to businesses that are engaging in environmentally conservative practices in their own operations is another effective incentive. Everyone, every organization, and every industry has a role to play in supporting a more sustainable world.
