FAmerica's ski resort operators have been out front on environmental issues for a long time. The National Ski Area Association (NSAA) adopted the Sustainable Slopes Environmental Charter for Ski Areas in June 2000 and updated it in 2006. The charter outlines a comprehensive set of 21 Environmental Principles promoting sustainable practices for ski area operators.
