Social Responsibility

American Express
American Express, in keeping with its longstanding commitments to community service and corporate citizenship, recognizes its responsibility to protect the environment and to help ensure its health and well-being for generations to come. The company views its role in two ways - first, to do its part to build sustainability into its business while reducing our environmental impact overall, and second, to provide its customers the opportunity to pursue their environmental objectives when doing business with them.  In addition to energy reduction and waste management programs implemented more than two decades ago, American Express has increased its focus on environmental issues and has committed to reducing its carbon footprint 10 percent by 2012 from its 2006 baseline estimate.  The company has determined the primary areas of focus for reducing carbon emissions will be: increasing energy efficiency in their facilities and sourcing more of our electricity from renewable energy sources.
Carlson Wagonlit Travel
Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) is addressing issues of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) both internally and on behalf of its clients. The company believes it is an important part of its responsibility to foster the development and well-being of employees, ensure productive relationships with all of its stakeholders, protect the environment and be good citizens in the communities in which it operate. Specifically, CWT has made diversity, the environment and community involvement the focus of its CSR program.  CWT is also helping clients to address CSR and environmental issues by enabling travel management professionals and travelers to make well-informed decisions that may reduce their company's carbon footprint.
